The homies here are so nice, y'all have helped me a lot and haven't done anything to make me feel stupid or bad about asking for help. There's a lot of toxic crap on Reddit but y'all are awesome thank you so much.

Found these in my tank, what are they? Will they kill my shrimp?

What is this small red spot on this green jade? Just coloration or something to worry about.

Saw my first baby cherry today! It's so tiny, maybe about 2 mm long, sitting on a Dwarf Sagittaria leaf. It disappeared right after I took the photo.

Shrimp nipping my hornwort plant

Posted: 08 Oct 2021 09:17 PM PDT

Have any of you experienced this ? I introduced 10 cherrie shrimp to my tank and now I see that my hornwort is nipped badly - is this a common behavior ?

My shrimp are more active than usual. Today I dosed Seachem Flourish and BacterAE. Could either of these be the culprit and should I be concerned?

Posted: 08 Oct 2021 05:25 PM PDT

This is the first time I've dosed either of these since I added shrimp three weeks ago.

I used 0.6ml of Flourish for a 10 gallon tank. I know it has trace amounts of copper but I was under the impression that it was a small enough amount that it shouldn't affect them.

For the BacterAE I used an amount the size of a grain of rice and sprinkled it over the filter outflow. It's distributed over the surface of the water.

About 8 of my shrimp are swimming around a lot more than usual. The rest (~20 shrimp) are just grazing as usual and seem unbothered.

I'm very worried that it's the fertilizer that is bothering them. I can't tell if they're just after the BacterAE. Can shrimp be more active after adding BacterAE, or did I screw up by adding Flourish??
