Aquarium Co-Op finally had "banana plants" in stock! I've wanted these for about half a year but they're always out of stock. Really hope they take root and do well, they look so cool.

A year ago, my daughter asked for a fish tank. I didn’t know anything about keeping fish, but after a year of trial and error, this is where we are at!
A beautiful friend I made at a hospital I’m at. Can anyone tell me the species? I love his attitude, the little sharp teefs, and the little mauve tail. He kept swimming circles around the other fish and then abruptly stopping to rest in this specific spot next to me.
I’m at a hotel and can’t put my finger on the breed of this giant beauty, help me identify please

Angel Betty - 5 week transformation, two photos about 5 weeks apart same fish in about the same place. She is growing rapidly and acts like she is starving to death anytime she sees someone walk by the tank. I'm pretty sure we are not overfeeding - Does she look healthy to you? Thank you!

What's wrong with my cichlid? Keeps happening to all my cichlids and all of them have died. Extreamely skinny, won't eat, hides in this coconut, weak and heavy breathing. Is there anything i can do? Just did water changes.

Fishless cycle question

I'm having trouble finding a clear answer on this. If I'm wanting to use real plants, do I add them at the very beginning or do I wait until I have finished the cycle? Do they help with cycling or will they make it trickier/would it be bad for them? Thanks!
