What is this thing in the middle of my zoas? I've noticed a few others around the tank. They don't appear to bother my zoas and a mushroom it's near. They appear to only come out at night.

I was told this is a hammer coral when I purchased it. I have doubts. What do you think?

Some shots of the hammer eating some pellet food, and then shots of it’s mouth.

Possible to set up a tank on carpet?

Posted: 19 Jun 2021 05:38 PM PDT

I just moved houses and the living room is carpeted. How crazy would it be to set up my 54gal corner tank on the carpet? If I live here for 3 years, I assume: the weight of the tank would ruin the carpet, and any salt water spilled would also ruin it? The carpets were just installed about five days ago and I rather not ruin it just yet.

Has anyone been successful with setting up a tank on carpet?

Thanks!

Edit: the tank would be on its oem stand, but sitting on the carpet and not a hard floor.
