Reef Tank - Aquariums - Just got this with my coral order. Pretty sure it's just a brittle star and is fine to go in the tank, but wanted to check

ID? Some white fuzzy stuff growing on the shaded side of a rock and also on a small section of GSP(couldn’t get a pic). The gsp doesn’t care at all so I don’t think it’s an infection. It popped up once before in this spot on the rock but came off with a brush and stayed away for several months.

Late TDT of my clownfish guarding some eggs.

Is this too much light or not enough light? I’ve been turning my ai prime way down over the course of 3-4 weeks but both my montis have lost color

LPT: Don't bother getting a gel manicure if your reef light runs in the UV spectrum.

The UV light ruins the bonding holding the polish onto your nails. What should have lasted 2-3 weeks peeled off after I spent a few minutes cleaning the glass in my tank. It makes me wonder just how much UV exposure we're all getting from this hobby!

Cleaner Shrimp vs Fire Shrimp?

Posted: 11 Jun 2021 08:56 AM PDT

I'm starting to (slowly and steadily) stock my Waterbox 20 Cube. My next step I'm planning on is to get a shrimp for the reef, but I'm still undecided on which one. Any advice or experience people can offer?

1) I know Fire Shrimp hide more, but I'm not too concerned about this. My tank isn't that large so I'd still likely be able to see the shrimp if I wanted to.

2) How big of an issue is stealing food from corals? I'm planning on quite a bit of LPS. Are shrimp not a good idea in that case?

3) I've heard Fire Shrimp get big. Would it look out of place in my 20 with 2 clowns? I'd ideally like a shrimp that is smaller than my female.

4) I know both of these shrimp are ornamental, but do they provide a net positive affect to the tank? Will they help clean up detritus?

Thanks!

I’m Mid process of acclimating and dipping my coral when I noticed this. Is this a good or bad starfish? What are the two strings on the right side?
