Is it normal for axolotls to rub their backs on things? I can't tell if this is something to be worried about or if it's just something cute mine is doing? The water conditions are all normal but mine loves to rub his or her back on these silicone balls that I have in her tank. Only thing I can find about itching is when they have fungus and they scratch their gills like a dog. Mine isn't doing any of that. So I'm wondering if this is normal?!

I dont understand why my water is still so warm.

I live in Texas so outside right now is around the 90's F. I keep my house at 75 F because my parents are really picky about the temperature so I cant change that. I have a 16-inch wall fan directly above my axolotl tank which hits the water directly. I also have water movement from a on-the-back filter and a UV algae killer and I have it away from a window. So, there's lots of movement in the water with a powerful fan. My water is still at 69 F and I want to get it down to 64 F since I know it's optimal. Anyone have an idea of why my tank is still warm and what I can do to fix it?

Hello, I'm thinking about getting an axolotl, I've heard they are pretty easy to care for and they look pretty cool. Where would I get one and can they be kept in an aquarium that had fish in it before? Any tips or suggestions before I get one?
