Hey guys,

I'm a bit worried about the growth rate of my Mystery snail. I got him about 3 months ago and he was roughly 1inch long, in the time I have had him he hasn't grown at all, and is literally still 1 inch long.

Is it a feeding issue? I don't feed him anything specific, he just eats any algae build up in the tank.

He lives in a 5gal planted tank with roughly 30 cherry shrimp who are all doing super well (pic below)

What color do bladder snails come in, so far I've only seen the one color but I've also seen one very light goldfish colored snail slithering across the glass. (This isn't her btw,this was just one I found on the glass)

Snello Advice: Herbs?

Hi all! I'm looking to make some snello for my mystery snails, and I wanted to make sure I'm not putting anything in there that's not good for them. In addition to most generic snello recipes, I thought of using some of my excess basil. Are there any herbs that I should steer away from using? I tried doing research online, but I couldn't find many other people using herbs. I wasn't sure if that meant it could be toxic to snails, or if not many others have done it.

How Long to Quarantine Snails?

Hi,

I'm getting some nerite snails to help with the algae in my fancy goldfish tank. Previously I made a mistake by adding snails without quarantining and lost a fish to septicemia, I still feel guilty even though it was a year ago so I will not be doing that again. I know snails can't be infected with fish diseases but they can carry them. I'm planning on taking out some moss balls and a piece of decor covered in algae to put in their quarantine tank. However, I don't know how long I should wait before adding them to the tank. Anyone know, in general, how long fish pathogens can live without a host?

How is this snail still alive??

My mystery snail has been sick and stuck on its back for TWO MONTHS now! We figured it was just his time, so we've been leaving him be, but he's not dead?? Every few days he pokes his little head out, then closes back up for a few days. How??? He's not eating or moving, just chilling. I'm dumbfounded.

New snails with significant change in shell growth

Last week I received three mystery snails. They're about the size of a quarter. They all arrived with new shell growth that is significantly thinner than their old shell. I've had mystery snails come to me with poor shell growth from bad water conditions but I've never seen such a drastic difference in the shell. Any idea what happened?

I have cuttlebone in the tank and feed them snello/leafy greens. Is there anything else I should do to help them? Photo of one for reference. My betta decided he needed to also be in this photo.
