Thoughts on a media filter rack versus a canister filter?

Posted: 12 Apr 2021 08:35 PM PDT

I currently have two of these: https://www.innovative-marine.com/shop/CustomCaddy%E2%84%A2-Customizable-Filter-Media-Basket-w-Media-Midsize-p184826196

But am considering if I should get a canister filter instead as I've been facing some pretty serious algae issues. Thoughts on incorporating a canister filter to the mix? I def don't want to strip the water of all the nutrients, if that's even a risk.

Need advice. Should I keep the middle rock there. Or remove it and have it as two rock islands on the side. Or any other suggestions

Any new advice on fighting aiptasia? I tried kalwasser, Aiptasia-X... I have many true peppermint shrimps... That's an invasion now. Don't want a file fish as it is not 100% reef safe and can't have nudibranches as I have a six line wrasse... Thanks in advance!
