Fancy goldfish!

Egg is officially a mom. Most eggs were loach food but I have 7 fry and they’re finally big enough to see tiny split tails. Now to see if they grow for sale and find out if they’re Ranchu or Orandachu.

There are tiny holes and splits in his fins. Fin rot?

Laying on the ground again!!!

Looks like I still have a bit of ammonia, and a bit of nitrites still. But so close!!

My 2 year old oranda does this when i am sitting next to the tank. Swims normally when i am not there, and eats normal. What should i do, if anything? Perameters are all safe

Goldfish white spots? I was wondering if it was from stress or some disease. Their tank isn’t exactly ideal, about 5 gallons. I’ve been working to get a bigger on though.

I'm the aquatics specialist for a well known pet store chain! How can I teach the world about the glory of goldfish properly?

Posted: 13 Apr 2021 08:20 PM PDT

I've been a tropical fish enthusiasts for a few years now, and I have a beautiful 65 gallon planted tropical community tank, large betta tanks, and many others in my home! I was hired back in November as an aquatics specialist, and I'm great with tropical but not so much on the gold fish side! I know the basics, and, yes I read the wiki, but what do YOU wish I knew to tell an excited family about their new friend? (Also I out right refuse to sell to people who have tanks 10 gallons or less for any type of goldfish)

Why are my fish so shy?

Posted: 13 Apr 2021 12:32 PM PDT

My fancy goldfish in the pond are always really shy as soon as i go over to the pond they all swim away anyone know why or how to make them more friendly? Asking as everyone else on youtubes fish come to the top all the time. I only have a few in a large pond so maybe more fish will boost confidence? Also when i put food in they arent really interested, same with the commons in another pond. For example in the indoor fish tanks the fish eat all the foot instantly but outdoors it sits there for a while.

55gal redo

Posted: 13 Apr 2021 01:54 PM PDT

So I hate my current 55gal. I was thinking about a pair of fancy's in my 55 if I decide to redo it. Right now I just have the top fin filter that came with my tank that's rated for 75gal, it allows for up to 400gallons per hour I believe. Buuuut I'm also not a huge fan, and I think the flow is too much for fancies, so what filters do y'all use with 55gal tanks?

New fish is gasping for air, help?

Posted: 13 Apr 2021 08:29 AM PDT

Hi everyone! Can you give me some insights? I've got a new fish (demekin, half ryukin and half telescope) that took a day and a half to get to me, so very fast shipping. He lost some color and is almost constantly gasping for air. I tested the water and I have a little ammonia, around 0,25ppm I would say since the test kit can't pick up anything below 0,5 ppm. No2 and no3 are both at zero. The tank is cycled. I added some drops of seachem prime to the tank for the ammonia, should I do a water change? I don't want to stress him out. Is it possible that he got some ammonia burns in his gills during shipping? Should I just wait it out for him to heal?
