They are here asking for help for a reason. There is no point saying "you really need to do your research, you need to do better, blah blah blah" yeah, they are asking for help. They are asking for your input. Obviously in some cases people are ignorant and harmful, but if you scare them away while they are trying to get help and learn more, they aren't going to ask for help in the future. I just saw a post where someone was asking about whether or not a temporary tank was big enough until they got the bigger one, and some people in the replies were being unnecessary mean. You very easily could have said "the fish wouldn't be happy there, if you don't have a fish yet I would suggest waiting" instead of "no, that's awful. Why can't you get a bigger tank sooner? This is cruel." You catch more flies with sugar than vinegar.
