Upgrading my reef from 55g to 140g but don't have space for both. How can I do the transfer without cycling the new tank? (picture for attention)

HELP! MANY FISH IN TANK DIED OVERNIGHT!

Posted: 23 Mar 2021 12:42 AM PDT

We have a 110L marine tank and overnight everything has died. We have already done a 50% water change. There are nitrites in the water which means something has caused an ammonia spike. There are not many nitrates. The tank is 3 months old and has many corals in it. We did find a Dead Sea Hare the evening before, could it have been possible that is what has caused it? As soon as we found it, we put in nitraphos minus to try and prevent a nitrite spike. What should we do?? All the shrimp are still alive and so are all the hermit crabs. We are taking a water sample to our local LFS. Any help or ideas will be much appreciated!!

New tang feeding help

Posted: 22 Mar 2021 08:02 PM PDT

Hello!

I have a 72 gallon tank. I had a Caribbean blue tang in there since it was tiny, but recently sold it around the 5 inch mark because I could tell it was outgrowing me. This thing was a monstrous eater and would eat literally anything (flakes, clippings from sump, pellets, frozen, LRS seaweed sheets).

I recently added a new two spot bristletooth tang (who can stay in my tank it's whole lifetime, right?) to the display about a week ago and I offer all the same foods. It barely nibbled at the seaweed sheets (I soaked them in garlic) but ignored all other stuff. It mostly picks at the glass all day, so I feel like it definitely wants to eat something! I was told it was eating seaweed sheets in the LFS.

I read on some forums that maybe I should try red seaweed sheets for it? Is this worth a try or does anyone have other suggestions?

[HELP] Kalkwasser

Posted: 22 Mar 2021 10:56 PM PDT

I know kalkwasser can be used to supplement calcium and alkalinity, with the benefit of raising/maintaining pH, but is there a maximum amount of kalkwasser that you can add? Does the ph lower when calc and alk are consumed, or does ph stay elevated?
