I'm getting emotional about parting ways with my common goldfish :( Posted: 03 Mar 2021 08:30 PM PST So my daughter(3) has a 2(ish) year old common Goldie named Kelso and he lived in a 10 gallon with his calico ryukin brother Dorsey. They got so big!! The tank quickly became too small and Kelso started picking on Dorsey. So here we are now. I got a new 20 gallon tank and I can't stress enough that this is only temporary but right now Kelso is in the big tank and Dorsey is chillin in the 10 gallon. I test the waters every day, they have a regular routine that they are very used to and please trust that I do regular water changes. Kelso will be moving to the local high school library to live with my mom (the librarian) in his very own tank. He's a very social guy so I can imagine he will enjoy being doted on by an endless supply of teenagers! When he moves, Dorsey will have my new tank all to himself. I need you guys to remind me that this is for the best. I love Kelso like crazy and I will be doing weekly tests and checkups. Eventually if i get a house I will get a mega tank and hopefully get him back but man. I never thought I'd get so sad over rehoming a fish. Also more than myself I'm worried about my daughter losing her fish that she's had as long as she can remember and Dorsey losing his bff. Will he get lonely? Also to add, I know this is my 3rd post in 2 days but I don't have anyone in my life who shares my goldfish love. I need more fish lovers in my life [link] [comments]

Goldfish online or shop in West coast Posted: 03 Mar 2021 04:04 PM PST Hi all, I am looking for Thai Oranda Goldfish for my aquarium and was wondering if anyone of you have any recommendations where I can buy it from. Open to online and short drive on west coast , Seattle [link] [comments]
Posted: 03 Mar 2021 12:20 PM PST I was doing a water change and I pulled up my filter cartridge to look at it. When I replaced it, it sent out a ton of debris and my water is very cloudy now. I put a new filter cartridge in that I rinsed in tank water. Is that enough to crash my cycle? My filter has another part that has seasoned media in it, I left that part alone. [link] [comments]
Posted: 03 Mar 2021 09:54 AM PST they mix 2-3 kinds of fish pellets in the eggs and steam them. they could just use a type that has most vitamins and minerals and just use that. and most of the time vitamins and minerals are lost in steaming. btw. the other kinds didn't have enough nutritional facts. they're really weird. edit. i think a mod replied and I can't reply. they add less nutritious pellets. is this normal? for me, it feels like they're degrading the product [link] [comments]

Posted: 03 Mar 2021 05:14 AM PST I know fancy goldfish tend to get swim bladder issues. Has anyone ever tried Kenta it is supposed to relieve the gas build up in their intestines, just wondering if it really works. I do feed bloodworms, brine shrimp, replashy and peas hardly any pellets. But sometimes still prone to swim bladder problem. [link] [comments]
Low visibility filtration for a 75 gallon Posted: 03 Mar 2021 05:49 AM PST I just bought a 75 gallon tank. I currently have 3 ranchu in a 40 breeder that I am going to move over to it once set up. I will probably add 1 more ranchu eventually but not right away. I intend to use the aquarium as a divider and position it directly behind a love seat that I also use to divide the kitchen and living room areas. The room is on a concrete foundation with laminate flooring over the concrete so the tank will not be in danger of crashing through the floor. Due to placement I want to be able to have clear vision from all sides of the tank so I have nixed any type of filtration that hangs on the side of the aquarium. Do you think a Fluval 407 with largest Hydro sponge filter will be enough filtration? Any different suggestions? I haven't bought anything since the tank isn't set up yet. The 40 breeder is currently running a Fluval 307 but I don't think it is big enough to handle a 75 gallon or I would just move it over and switch the 40 breeder to a Seachem Tidal HOB and sponge filter set up. Unless absolutely necessary I would like to keep costs under $200. I was planning on buying the 407 from Petco curbside pickup and using their 25% off promotion for using the service to keep to my budget. [link] [comments]

Is it normal for a goldfish to projectile fire water at me is mine just a psychopath? Posted: 03 Mar 2021 01:01 AM PST Honestly, I just went to feed him and a perfect splash of water came out of the feeding hole in the lid of the tank. [link] [comments] |
