Is my mystery snail dead? I have a Walstad setup and ive noticed my snail has been much less active lately but he hadnt moved in almost two days. I took him out to check on him and noticed that his operculum is crooked inside of his shell. He doesn't smell rotten, just like an aquarium. Help!

Wonder if anyone can answer if this is a egg or not ? I thought it was but I haven't seen any new babies as of yet and been probably a good 12 hours since the photos were taken

Tips for hatching mystery snail eggs?

Posted: 18 Oct 2020 12:08 PM PDT

Hi guys, my two mystery snails surprised me today when I noticed they had laid 3 giant egg clutches. One of these clutches was in the process of hatching, but the tank glass was too dry and the clutch was laid too high. Most of the babies were just on glass, I'm not sure if they were alive or not. I wet my finger and gently scooted them down into the water, and broke up the remaining clutch in the water to release any other snails. I dont want to risk the same thing happening with the other two clutches. The tank is my semi aquatic turtles tank, so only half of the half is filled up. There's a screen lid, so humidity doesnt stay in the tank well. I've tried incubation egg clutches before but didnt get the best results. Any advice or links to videos would be super helpful.
