Is my pond goldfish eating itself sick with only algae?

I don't overfeed, but I do have a pretty impressively 1/4" of algae growing on the sides of my container pond and my comet goldfish seem to enjoy munching on it constantly.

Their bellies look rounded (much rounder than when I bought them) and they are growing fast, especially my solid white comet, Señor Alfredo Sauce. He's gone from 2" to nearly 5" in only a few months, and he's a nice sturdy boy. Doesn't look bloated. Just a big boy.

He's got a small darkish growth behind his upper fin though, and I'm wondering what to do about it.

All the levels look pretty good, no ammonia or nitrate detected, pH is about 7.5.

I am trying to get a picture of the growth but it's tough since he shows up great in pictures but his growth is only visible at certain angles.

Any thoughts?

temporary goldfish tank?

Posted: 08 Sep 2020 04:36 PM PDT

I bought 2 blackmoors today while picking up a filter for a new 30 gallon tank, I just didnt want to risk them being out of stock once my new tank cycles. should they be okay in like a small plastic critter keeper in the original store water while the tank finishes cycling? should I feed them in that water? is it okay to add more (conditioned) water to said critter keeper so they have more to swim around in? thanks in advance for any help and advice!

Red pimple on Red Cap Oranda wen? I took it out of its tank for closer inspection, seems like a bulb of red blood pimple with a thin red vessel attached to it, I didn't try cutting it off in fear of infection. Treatment/advice/leave be? I don't want any infections! Wen was never infected prior.

Is this fish scale loss? All water parameters are still at normal, I think the scale might have been chipped from a decoration--should I leave it be or do some treatment? Only this one spot in center (dull looking spot with small red specks)
