I have two shrimp tanks, the main one is 11 months old. My first aquarium, I read about all the recommendations, cycling, filtering, lighting, plants ... I did everything right and always did the maintenance correctly. It worked, and in 11 months the tank has 80 red cherrys and 5 neons. So I decided to start a new, bigger tank. I set up the hardscape and left it cycling. In the process, I had to travel and was away for 4 months. I left the house key with a friend, for him to be able to feed the main tank and keep the maintenance, while the new one was cycling, with nothing alive inside. Some day, my friend went to feed the main tank, he took 6 shrimp from there and put it in the new tank, just to test it. I told him "they will not survive, without a filter, without food, without plants and without a complete ammonia cycle." He did it anyway, and 4 months later when I returned home, the new tank was dirty, full of algae, planaria and 150 Red Cherrys !!!!! I didn't believe in what I was seeing. In 4 months the new tank without any maintenance, without filter, without food and without cycle, had more shrimps than my older main tank with correct maintenance. It made me happy and angry at the same time! Haha

Some of my shrimp babies. I turned off the light in my room and got some nice pictures of them. The last one was hard to take and was a few days earlier. Sorry for the bad quality.

One of my friends sent me this, and it's a little too spot on for this community tbh

Paranoid new shrimp mom here! I’ve just seen these white markings on one of my shrimp & it is just zooming around like it’s suddenly full of energy. Should I be worried? Or are these just markings I missed?
