Jarrariums - Not sure if im in the right place but I recently received these as gifts, all that seems to be in them is stones and the plant and they’re both fully submerged in water. Will they survive this way? I have no Idea how to care for them!

Substrate in my very first pond water jarrarium is turning black. Is it bad? Can I stop it?
