Little mini jar I just put together. The plants are floating because I had to use chopsticks to poke them in, and I’m bad at using chopsticks. Also contains three pond snails.

I'm considering setting up a blue velvet walstad and need advice!

Hello, please keep in mind i'm completely new and unfamiliar with aquarium and shrimp ownership, and if you feel that I may be unqualified feel free to tell me haha.

I''m thinking about setting up a basic cherry shrimp walstad bowl and i need confirmation on my choice of plants and setup.

here are my plants, and will be planted in pool filter sand w/ aquarium gravel:

  • Hornwort
  • Dwarf hairgrass
  • Moss balls

I plan on keeping it all in a 5 bowl with around 3-4 cherries, as well as a nerite for cleanup. (also red cherry or blue velvet? i love the blue colour but I'm not sure about difficulty.) I plan on making the setup look similar to this.

Is what I've chosen good enough or is it missing something? the information available online is very vague and conflicting so help/advice with actually setting up and establishing the plants will be greatly appreciated.

A starter I guess?

Okay, so I randomly found this sub, and I think it's amazingly interesting. Could someone explain to me how one would create all these life forms in a little jar? In some way it's really soothing to watch all these videos of you guys, but I would like to have one on my own.
