My first jarrarium attempt. An old growler makes for a decent home for local lake life. Any suggestions for it?

They seem to like their new rock/clean-up station

First attempt! I’ve read differing opinions; leave the cork off, or is the cork porous enough to allow gas exchange? Can’t wait for it to clear up

I made a new one today! Eastern Kentucky native plants.

Can you use regular moss for a brine shrimp jarrarium?

I'm wondering what type of plant to use (I have eggs already) and i came across a video saying moss would work. Is this true? or will I have to get algae? And if so do I need a specific type of algae or does any work?

Creek or lake?

Would I be better to get water, substrate, and plants from a creek or a lake (I.e. moving or still water)?
