Jarrariums - are there species that live like this naturally?

i'm thinking about it, and something similar to an ecosphere or jarrarium - probably unsealed - MUST have happened in nature, right? all it takes is just a crater in a rock or something. what's the evolutionary niche that most resembles the conditions we create here?

Just started getting into the hobby, and all glass containers in my house have become mini aquatic and terrestrial jarrariums

First try, and a few questions

Here is a pic of my first try at building a jarrarium, I have what I think is Anubias and another plant in the background whose name I cannot remember (any suggestions?)
There are 5 ramshorn snails and a few smaller snails which came with the plants

I don't know if I should keep the jar closed or not, as far as I understand closed system are harder to setup succesfully, but I could open the jar for maintenance if needed. Or is it better to leave it open 24/7? And how does that affect changing the water? Any info or hint would be of great help about this

The goal would be to add a few shrimps if the system proves to be stable

Thanks for the help!

Anybody know what this is? It’s round, kind of translucent, and appeared out of nowhere. I didn’t anything from a pond, and I only have shrimp and snails in my jar.

My first good try on a jarrarium (the others are okay but not like this one came out). What do you think?
