Mosquito Larvae in Crayfish tank Posted: 17 Jul 2020 07:15 PM PDT I discovered mosquito Larvae in my crayfish tank. It's a 20 gal tank filled almost to the top with 2 airstones and a strong filter. It has a lid but there is an opening in the back (for the air line) and one at the front to lift the lid. It is a jumbo Louisiana CF saved from a boil. Ive had him for over a month and I regularly clean the tank. I thought mosquitoes only laid larvae in still waters. Will they harm my crayfish or will he eat them? If they might harm him, how do I successfully get them out? And prevent it from happening again. He tends to perch himself on top of high plants and he's incredibly active so I'm surprised a mosquito would find it to be a suitable place for breeding. Edit: I'm also very concerned about them hatching in the house. [link] [comments] |
