| Posted: 25 Jun 2020 12:30 AM PDT I suppose I'm posting this as a vent. I feel terrible. I read so much about cherry shrimp before buying them. Acclimation, parameters, food, compatibility, plants, everything. I wanted to ensure my shrimp would have the best life I could give them. I added them and only saw about 10/20 at a time. I was reading about them more tonight, and read that you can't put them in a tank with a HOB... I immediately ran to check on my filter. It was a graveyard. I'm so fucking mad at myself for missing such a simple fact. Swooped all of my remaining shrimp up and threw them in a Tupperware with some marimo moss, gravel, water from aquarium. Waiting for a sponge to put around intake to arrive I wish I had got a sponge filter instead of just cheaping out and thinking it would be fine when I set up my tank... I just wanted to keep all my pets alive. Nsfw because death [link] [comments] | ||

| Posted: 24 Jun 2020 10:27 PM PDT Hey so I thought I did my research(not enough i guess), and made the decision to get fluval stratum as my substate because I'm keeping shrimp in my tank. That being said, the first day I had a few deaths because I did my large water change at the end of cycling the day my shrimp were to arrive so the substrate buffered my water while the shrimp were in there shocking them. Now the question, how would I go about doing water changes? I'm looking into a countertop ro water system but I wont have it for a months time, and in that time I will have to do water changes, how am I to go about changing my water without shocking the shrimp. I'm going to be doing around a 15 percent water change tomorrow and would like some advice. TIA [link] [comments] | ||
