How Many Nerites in 25G?

Posted: 24 Jun 2020 02:08 PM PDT

I have a 3 month old planted 25G that I'm thinking about adding Nerites to for algae control and I just like how they look. I was considering just one to keep eggs to a minimum, but apparently females will lay unfertilized eggs anyway so I'd be okay with a small group. Tankmates would be a betta, molly fry, and cory catfish.

Extreme stress response: my beloved mysteries are both writhing around but not going anywhere after dosing melafix + pimafix. What can I do? Horrible to watch :(

Posted: 24 Jun 2020 06:47 AM PDT

Anyone else see this kind of stress response before? Did they get used to the meds? Both are invert safe. I feel absolutely horrible, they are clearly enduring so much pain/shock that they cannot chose to move normally. It's been a few hours now. I'm afraid they'll die tonight.

If they're alive tomorrow but still not moving normally, I think I have to risk taking them out until the meds are gone. I live in Saigon, VN. Aquariums are insanely popular here and everything is insanely cheap. I can walk down the street and buy a "complete" setup for my two friends to inhabit for a week.

Mystery snail “riding” Black Devil - is this normal behavior?

Posted: 24 Jun 2020 10:23 AM PDT

Just added a Black Devil Snail I ordered from Aquatic Arts and it has been active but wound up in the path of one of my Mystery Snails.

I know that my Mystery Smails usually just act like bulldozers, but my white one has decided to "ride" the Black Devil and they've gone across the whole tank like this...

Pics/Vids of mystery snail "riding" newly added Black Devil Snail

Is this an issue or just random chance?

Also do Mystery Snails ever "fight" other Mystery or other snails for food? My mystery's have gotten tangled up on top of a small Nerite when it was just chilling on an algae wafer. They eventually separated but it was kind of violent looking.

Do any snails even noticed one another or do they just see each other as speed bumps?

AND...I added more pics to album:

How do I safely get my red mystery snail out my HOB filter box? It's chilling and eating from intake because I left the cover open to root pothos plants.

I have the plastic lip for my glass canopy which I'll add to stop escapes like this from happening, though they'll find a way out I'm sure...
