| One of my goldfish died and the nitrite and ph levels were normal for goldfish Posted: 26 May 2020 05:57 PM PDT Today, I got up early and my small (2 - 3 in.) white fantail looked like he was struggling and died. Yesterday, it didn't seem like anything was wrong; he was eating fine and moving fine. When I saw him struggle, I took out my nitrite and ph tests because I wanted to know if something was wrong(I usually test the water already). But I saw nothing abnormal. Is it because I chose a bad breeder (The type that sells at festivals). I also saw no ich or dropsy. I also dont think it is swim bladder disease because he died very suddenly :( :( :( [link] [comments] | ||
| Posted: 26 May 2020 09:15 PM PDT So, my fantail goldfish spends most of the day in the corner of his tank looking at his reflection. He doesn't swim out that corner much besides to get food. Is there something abnormal about this? And should I be concerned? (He's done this for about two? weeks now) [link] [comments] | ||
| Posted: 26 May 2020 09:06 PM PDT Nothing Im doing is helping keep the pond water clear?! I changed the filter, I added duckweed to fix the nitrogen and provide shade to prevent as much algae, I feed less often so not as much extra food, no substrate so it's not getting stirred up. What am I doing wrong I want to see my fishies so I know they are doing okay. [link] [comments] | ||

| Narrow bodied, long finned goldfish subspecies? Posted: 26 May 2020 06:33 PM PDT I ask on behalf of my sweet mother. 25+ years ago she inherited a cold water tank from a coworker, stocked with the most beautiful goldfish any of my family had ever seen. Mainly bright goldfish-orange with a few splotches of white, but a body more carp-like than all of the adorable lil piggies I see all over here. These fish were massive, 8" or more tip to tail, but had these long ornate fins that swooped behind them. Can anyone possibly point me in the direction of what those goldies were?! | Posted: 26 May 2020 01:01 PM PDT Would it better to have a smaller tank but rectangle shape for more swimming room or a tank with more litres but taller or hexagon shape for the water? There would be multiple fish as they are inherited from a dead relative. Currently limited to what I can put them in for now but looking for a bigger tank on a stand. [link] [comments] | ||
| I'm fixing a Fluval 350L for my 3 goldfish. Where do I put it? Posted: 26 May 2020 12:22 PM PDT I have 2 young sarasa comets and an older black moor that I rescued from my mother's awful 10L tank without a heater/lights/filter, I added one but she constantly turned it off because "it was too noisy".Anyway I moved all 3 to a 120L with 4 albino corydoras but once the goldies started nibbling on them I had to move the goldfish into a 60L container temporarily. I recently got my hands on a leaking Fluval Rio 350 that I'm trying to fix but there's nowhere I can put it downstairs because my mother doesn't like me "spoiling" my fish with filtration and heating😒. I have a Betta 150L canister filterthat I got when I added them to their old tank but I'm hopefully going to get a Betta 540L canister filter once I have some money again. The only place I can put it is upstairs in my bedroom but I'm worried that the floor won't be able to take the weight. From what I read it'll weigh almost 500kg (1000+ pounds). If it can't go upstairs the only other place it will go is the garden and I don't think I'll be able to handle it properly if it's outside especially because it is pretty cold in my country. I really don't want to keep my fish in the tub for too long. I know the comets will get big and I am trying to save up money but I have no job because of the lockdown. In the future I have a pond planned for the 2 but for now I just want them in a proper tank so they're happy. Please if anyone has any info I'd really appreciate it. 🙏 [link] [comments] | ||

| What’s wrong with my Goldfish? Posted: 26 May 2020 03:21 AM PDT He lives in a pond together with 2 buddies and 5 snails. I got them like 2 weeks ago and they were infected with Ick. They all got better after the second treatment but now he the only one who is very weak and got black spots all over. What could it be? I haven't tested the water quality YET, so I can't rule out ammonia poisoning. But let's pretend it's not that - is there anything else which could cause black spots and weakness in a single goldfish? [link] [comments] |
