Fancy goldfish temperature

Posted: 25 May 2020 11:09 PM PDT

I have a fancy goldfish and the aquarium temperature is usually 73-75 in the winter but now that it's turning to summer my aquarium is usually 75-77 degrees Fahrenheit. Could this cause any problems to my goldfish?

Comet Goldfish Sitting on the Bottom of the Tank at Night

Posted: 25 May 2020 09:58 PM PDT

So usually my comet goldfish is happily swimming through out the day and chilling every once and a while but when night comes shes sitting on the bottom of the tank, fins clamped, and reluctant to move. Any idea why? It's almost always at night around midnight.

Fish losing scales

Posted: 25 May 2020 08:54 PM PDT

Hi I'm new to this reddit and I wanted to talk about some concerns I have about my fish. He's a 2 year old common goldfish and lately I think he's been loosing his scales. When I clean his tank I see his scales in the bucket and he's beginning to have to white spots on him. I wanted to know if you have any tips to help or information about what's going on thank you.

My fish is sitting near the bottom of the tank and barely moving. What is the problem?

Minimum requirement for ranchu?

Posted: 25 May 2020 04:36 PM PDT

Looking at starting a goldfish tank, I recently found a 60 gallon tank in my shed! Is this enough for 2 ranchu? Or maybe fancies? I'd like to hear what u think

What's up with my comet? He keeps lying down. I have been doing water changes every 2nd day for a month now and he has been fine until now?

This is my oranda missy. She has these 3 white spots on the top of her head. A few days ago I only saw 1. Im worried it is white spot (and I’m praying it’s not)but I needed other opinions

My 3 year old goldfish are dying. I recently upgraded my tank from 70 liter to 110 after that they did well in the fist month but after that they started to behave weird like staying on the bottom of the tank, if you look closely at the back fins they look like they are fading away. please help!

New to goldfish keeping

Posted: 25 May 2020 05:08 PM PDT

My fish is very small and currently in a 10gallon tank

Filter is not here yet and I have not cycled the tank (it was in a tiny cocktail bole thing so moved it fast)

Fish looks healthy and active and cant see any issues other than it going tail up nose down and floating at the bottom of the tank.

Any advice on looking after it and what I need to look after it welcomed

Anyone know reputable breeders for quality fancy fish? I’d like to get a younger fish and raise it if possible. Any info much appreciated.

5 weeks and tank hasn't even started to cycle. What else can I do?

Posted: 25 May 2020 01:18 PM PDT

*Title should say 6 weeks, my bad

It's a 40 gal with a HOB filter running 400 gal/min. Working on a fishless cycle.

Added fish food 6 weeks ago which only got the ammonia up to 0.5 ppm. So I bought and added pure liquid ammonia (Dr. Tim's) 4 weeks ago, and ammonia has been consistently reading 3 ppm for the last 4 weeks. Nitrite and nitrates have been 0 on every test (testing every couple days.) pH has consistently been 7. Temp is 72F on the heater thermometer, and 70F on the opposite side of the tank.

What's going on? I feel like I should at least be seeing some nitrite at this point?

Is there anything else I can do? Do I just need to wait more?

I bought my goldfish loads of plants, but will the nitrate be lower due to the amount they eat?

Posted: 25 May 2020 09:10 AM PDT

Of course, as they are grubbing fish, they are eating a lot of them, but there is huge amounts of green poo everywhere after one day. If i dont vacuum it out until my weekly water change, will the plants take the nitrogen the poo releases? Are the plants nitrate net negative or positive?
