Update on shy wild caught crayfish- this little guy got comfortable fast, and now goes on regular rampages just for kicks. I had no idea these guys were such voracious eaters! Its new molt is much more vibrant, can you ID? (Central Texas caught)

Does the crayfish eat the entire molt? Also, what to do with hidden food?

My crayfish molted and I am letting eat its shell. However, it seems like it's taking him forever to eat it. At what point am I supposed to remove it before it rots?

Also, do I remove the food that my crayfish takes to his cave if he doesn't eat it immediately? He took some algae wafers and I can see they're still in his cave.

I'm just worried about the water getting filthy
