I'm looking to make a sealed jar biosphere and was wondering, if I just use bog standard aquarium gravel and use water from one of my already healthy fishtanks would the plants be able to grow healthily?

I’ve my Opae Ula Jar for a few months now and a couple of these guys just popped up. I read they could multiple and take over the tank. Any advice appreciated
