She loves to hang out her little pot like this allllll the time. It cracks my husband up, which then cracks me up. So glad I have Lazlo in these trying times.

Basically my parents have been limiting the care I'm allowed to provide to my axolotl and he's suffering from it. For a more detailed explanation, please check my post history. My dad has been telling me that although my axolotl has been living in poor water for a year now, he's gotten "used to it", and if I change his water weekly and use conditioner he will die. I'm terrified. He's sick right now, but if I try to help will I just end up killing him? I don't know if I believe him or not, but he won't let up about how if I keep "fooling around" with Bailey, I'll end up killing him. Also, my dad's also been stressing that weekly 25% water changes will get rid of his ecosystem (which doesn't even exist, I found out dad's been filling the water jugs with distilled water, and when that ran out he filled them with tap water, no conditioner). I don't know what to do. Will I really kill him if I start changing his water more often? I'm terrified, I don't want to lose my baby.
