Aquatic Snails Why does my nerite bury himself every night?

Why does my nerite bury himself every night?

Posted: 30 Apr 2020 06:34 AM PDT

He use to do it on and off, but ever since I changed the substrate to soil, it seems every night right before the lights come on, he tucks himself in.

I read it's because they're stressed, but he does this consistently every night. Is he constantly stressed (relatable), or is he simply a man who appreciates being snug?

I sometimes don't see him for 2-3 days at a time because he only comes out at night (which is that also normal behavior?) and during the day he is tucked away.

I love the little guy, I just want to make sure he's okay. He turns his nose up at any food I drop in there, preferring only the finest brown algae. And since I added Mysteries and bladder snails came with the plants, I worry there's no food left (I add an algae wafer every other day, but everyone except him eats it).

Thanks!

My mystery snail can’t hold onto a leaf for the life of him

Could anyone help me identify what’s up with my snail’s shell? Adjusted water & gave some calcium via spinach.

Are mystery snails more active at higher temps?

My tank is at room temp. Around 70 degrees. Would my snail be happier and more active at 78 degrees? People have conflicting views online. (Eventually I'm going to be adding shrimp so is 78 too high for shrimp?)

Woke up and found these. I have two black racer snails, no doubt they created these eggs. Any tips on how to hatch these? I’ve never had eggs like these before.

Japanese Trapdoor Snails for sale!

[FS] Mesa AZ - $15 - Japanese Trapdoor Snails

Japanese Trapdoor Snails Available

Not your typical sells pitch, but, I am trying to make it more apparent that I have Japanese Trapdoor Snails available for purchase. I have way too many now and I am just trying to thin out my stock.

I've been breeding these snails for about 15-months now and I am at a high population of snails. I particularly love this species of aquatic snail because they are live bearers, and require no heating elements. What's more, is they are pretty cool looking and fun!

Prices start out at 5 snails for $15 + $15 flat rate shipped via USPS Priority Mail.

Thanks!
