Posted: 28 Mar 2020 09:37 AM PDT Hi everyone, I care for the fish at a large chain pet store on the east coast. Since social distancing and quarantines have been set into place, we have seen an increase in people coming to buy new pets and fish. I know that quarantining is boring, but if you decide you need a new fish because you're bored, you are potentially putting our lives as the employees at risk. The company will not shut down because we are considered an essential store, but since so many people are coming in to buy new pets for their quarantine (fish, hamsters, guinea pigs, leopard geckos, bearded dragons, etc) the company does not want to close its doors to the public because the amount of money on an average day has doubled. I have actually had (stupid, inconsiderate, irresponsible) people cough on me the last week while I was getting them fish or another animal. Please for the love of your fish specialists, do not go out and buy new fish right now because you're bored. Stay home!! Edit word [link] [comments] | ||
