This is my new nano. Any fish suggestions? I'm wondering about ember tetras, norman's lampeye killfish or microdevario kubotai.

Stage 1: Sort the flow out.

My understanding is the white stringing shoots are aerial roots...is this correct? If so, should I be trimming those when they are not at the base of the plant?

Forgot the name of this plant. Apparently it blooms.

My 1.5 month old 10 gallon. Pretty happy with it so far other than 2 Pygmy Corys that disappeared and one algae bloom. Luckily Yoda forced most of the algae out of the tank

3 easy things to make your tank look better instantly

Posted: 04 Feb 2020 02:44 PM PST

1. Get frosted glass film or something else as your background. Even if you have a white wall behind it, it still looks better and your fish will feel safer if you can't see them from every side.

2. Don't place the biggest stone, piece of wood, spongebob squarepants pineapple exactley in the middle of the tank. Even for simple layouts use the golden ratio to make it look more natural.

3. Your substrate should be higher in the back than in the front. It doesn't have to be a huge difference, even 1 inch higher in the back can be enough. Another advantage besides the better look is that backgroundplants often have bigger roots which will have more space with more substrate.

My LFS FINALLY got a plant shipment!! Not totally complete, but denser than it was! I upgraded from a 5g to a 20g so I didn’t have very many plants to transfer over. As of now I just use flourish and some co2 but I’m not sure if flourish will be enough now. Advice?
