My Waterbox 100.3 Reef

Found this pic from my old 150 gallon peninsula. This tank was a lot of fun to watch grow and was my last reef in Atlanta before moving to the midwest. That sailfin was a beast/murderer and i learned an important lesson about putting too big of fish in too small a tank. Hope you enjoy!

Finally built a proper stand for the 40 breeder! She's one year old today so I figured I'd treat the tank to something nice.

My first corals

My first corals

Hi

It is another "please ID corals" post :/ Today I bought 2 corals and I asked clerk to write down names since I am super new in this hobby but we were talking and talking and I forgot to remind him about the names. First one is soft coral, like xenia but it doesn't pulse, second one is some kind of LPS hammer. I just put them to my tank and hammer is shy.

Please help :)

How much of an oversized skimmer is okay?

Posted: 07 Jan 2020 08:25 PM PST

I have a 20 gallon tank with neon dottyback and a pair or clowns. I'm looking for a skimmer, and at HOBs rated for around 65 gallons like this one - AquaMaxx HOB-1.5 Hang-On-Back Protein Skimmer https://www.amazon.com/dp/B078NJXBGJ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_5uvfEbSKZ1N07

Is this okay for my tank? I'd like to add a fourth fish if possible but I'm not sure if I can keep reef quality water with this many fish.

Best books and resources to learn about coral?

Posted: 07 Jan 2020 02:33 PM PST

I work at a pet store and I feel so dumb when a customer asks for help with the coral and I have to run get a coworker who knows more. This sub as well as some fishkeepers on YouTube are very helpful but I want something that I can use without WiFi. Like a book I can read on the train or maybe a pdf I can print out?
