I just got this fish the other week. His gills have turned a whitish color overnight. Is this natural or is it a problem?

I’ve almost completely rescaped my tank. I’ve kept my Hygro and Ludwigia in the same place but moved my Guppy Grass towards the back because it’s starting to properly get tall now. And I know my Vallisneria are melting, they came all the way from America so rough trip. Feel free to leave suggestions
