Despite the Dino battle, the tank still looks nice, and the fish are happy.

Tang Trouble... any ideas what this little white thing connected to our Tang’s front fin is? It’s a little, almost stringy white thing that is attached to the tip of his front fin. Any opinions are appreciated. We are learning. Thanks.

Catching fish

Posted: 05 Jan 2020 09:11 PM PST

I need to get my clownfish out of my tank but i can NOT catch her. She's become too aggressive and is tearing flesh off polyps and attacking other peaceful fish.

I care more about my coral then one fish so im going to take her back to the LFS but im struggling to catch her

any advice?

Need help

So I recently got my first saltwater tank and have 1 clownfish and 1 watchman goby, I have live rock in there and was wondering if there was any easy beginner corals that I could add to give my tank a splash and have my clownfish host, also let me know if there are any extra things I should buy for the coral

Lost everything. What to do now?

Posted: 05 Jan 2020 08:23 PM PST

Today was an unfortunate day in my reef, friends. I lost my lawnmower blenny, Muddy, who was also the last swimmer in the tank. The story starts a few weeks ago, when we'll say a "natural disaster" struck my tank, that resulted in a few immediate losses, and a lot of stress that I believe caused the rest of the casualties. Over the past three weeks, I've lost two clowns, a sand sifting star, a condy nem, a blue tang, and then today, the aforementioned blenny. It's been a battle trying to keep the tank parameters in line with so much loss, and it's also just been a major bummer watching all my hard work literally being flushed down the drain.

So the only question on my mind now, is where do I go from here? I've still got a few soft corals that seem to be alright, and the rest of the cleanup crew is still out and about (though, now the tank is spotless, so I'll have to start taking care of them specifically). So do I do a water change, let it cycle for a bit, and start over? If so, how long should I let the tank cycle? What else should I consider before attempting to start again? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks, fellow reefers!
