why did my fish change colour?

Posted: 05 Jan 2020 11:29 PM PST

a few weeks ago I bought 3 gold fish. One gold with black tips (named Nekiko), one small and spotty with a white tail (named Pluto) and one bronse with a black tail (Demitri). I put them in an outside tank with a water lilly so they could clean out the wrigglers, but the tank is very mercy and it was hard kinda hard to see Demitri (or so I thort) I fed them for the first time today, as the wriggler population was running low, and noticed that there were 2 Plutos! but on closer inspection one was bigger with a black tail and one was small and had a white tail!. why did Demitri chane so mutch?

Proud of my Independence day Commons Pepper(gold) and Felonious(bronze). They will be moved to bigger housing when the time comes. Lol, slowmo was my best shot at clear shots for the moment.

Does my goldfish have dropsy or is it pregnant?

What is this.? 3 fancies in a 60 gal, they were moved about a week ago and their slime coats got a little damaged from the move, is this just the shedding of an old slime coat.?

My goldfish is next to the filter with his face pointing down

Posted: 05 Jan 2020 11:17 AM PST

Hi all I noticed this the other day and when I came to check on my fish in the morning, one of my goldfish puts himself between the glass and the filter and he vertical to the ground (his face is pointing down). I moved him to a bowl right now. He seems a little better. Thanks.

Do you know what this red mark is? (about 5 yrs old & has always had this red spot. I planted the tank a week ago and since then, noticed the red spot is getting darker, the scales around it have gone white, & there looks to be an abscess looking white spot on the red mark. Water params are good)

Missing fins in goldfish

Posted: 05 Jan 2020 05:04 PM PST

A few days ago, I noticed one of my goldfish struggling to swim properly, exhibiting the symptoms of swim bladder diseases. This had happened a few years ago to this particular fish, and back then I had treated it with some peas. I decided to follow the same protocol, first isolating the fish so that he would be easier to target feed. However, I noticed he was even more lethargic today, and closer inspection revealed most of his fins seem to have been ripped out (it looks really bad, see here https://imgur.com/a/298ie3E). I looked back at some pictures I had taken yesterday, and he had his fins back then. I'm thinking he must have ripped them with something inside the tank, but this seems very weird, because the tank is a bare bottom aquarium with no decorations.

What should I do now? Should I move him back to the main tank? I'm scared about the risk of infection. Will the fins grow back? I was really shocked when I saw the state he was in :(

Have a dilemma.

I have a 10 gallon tank but I'll be upgrading to a 55 gallon in a few months. Went to the pet store and wanted to get 2 of the feeder goldfish but they could only sell me 5. So I have 5 of these feeder fish and I know they can get big, I really only wanted 2, I don't want to kill the other 3. What should I do? Can I maybe set up a small pond in my back yard?

Transferring goldies

Posted: 05 Jan 2020 05:23 AM PST

I have 5 goldfish in a 26 gallon tank (I know I know) 3 of them where the ones that i had hatched the year before and put in to my 800 gallon outside pond, now i wanted to bread them again with 2 other goldies. My outside temp is now around 44°f and my tank is in my bedroom so around 66°f when can i transport them outside again before winter is gonna hit ?? Or should I wait?? I can lower the tank temp about 6 or 7 mabe 10 degrees but not more and heating my pond isn't an option either. What should I do?

We went away and left our fish with a 2 week feeder and she developed an infection. Taking her to the vet when they open this week but wondering if there is anything we can do now.
