Posted: 08 Jan 2020 09:20 PM PST So my tank has had a pretty rough go of things over the past two months. I lost my Clown and Tanaka's Pygmy Wrasse to a crash (luckily I still have my shrimp/goby pair) and I've just lost the inspiration to do things. Just changing water and feeding. I don't look at the tank as much as I used to and I haven't bought any coral like I planned to before the crash. For those of you that have lost inspiration but came back and are loving the hobby again, what did it for you? I really want to enjoy reefing again but I can't find that spark. [link] [comments]

Prepping for a new tank in spring/summer. Should I cycle my reefsaver rocks in the garage? Posted: 08 Jan 2020 03:43 PM PST I'm planning a new 40- or 65-gallon tank for this spring, but I was wondering about cycling my rocks in advance. Partly to shorten the time from tank arrival to livestock, but also so I can feel like I'm progressing. I'm installing brand-new, never-used Marco reefsaver rocks, and I could potentially use an old heater and pump to cure/cycle them for two months. My google search gave me a lot of info about curing dead live rock, and how to cure reefsaver rock quickly, but I'll have somewhere between two and four months before I have a tank. What's the best thing to do with my rock during that time? [link] [comments]

Posted: 08 Jan 2020 04:42 PM PST Found an ad on Craigslist for a Gen 2 Radion XR30w (NOT pro), 2 MP10s (no QD), and the Ecotech Reeflink. All for $150. I know it's not the newest gen of any of them, however for the price, even if some repairs need to be made (which I am capable of making), it seems like a great buy. Going with a Innovative Marine Nuvo 40 Fusion tank. [link] [comments]
