My shrimp riding my assassin snail

Posted: 12 Aug 2019 03:11 PM PDT

My husband surprised me with this nano bonsai shrimp tank for my birthday. Cant wait for the carpet and moss to grow in and see how it looks! Debating on whether I should add some chunks of slate or leave it as is...

Apple snail adventurer

Posted: 13 Aug 2019 01:56 AM PDT

Hi, my Apple snail jumped out the aquarium tonight while I was asleep. He doesn't really have any cracks on the shell itself, but I do notice some chipped/missing bits on the shell piece where he sticks his head out. Can I do something to help him repair it? Will he be able to repair it? I don't really have any experience with snails

Recently got some more ghost shrimp as my last ones died of unknown causes several months ago -bodies never found :( - but they’re so cute. I love these little guys and watching them shrimp.

So this guy has had this clear spot on him( and exact same in other side, so it’s symmetrical) for as long as I have had him. The shell isn’t broken, it’s just the spot is transparent. He has had no issues, so what do you think is going on? Just a cool pattern or disease?

Feeding dish alternative

Posted: 12 Aug 2019 11:42 PM PDT

Hi all! I have a heavily planted tank with a fair amount of hardscape which doesn't leave a lot of room to place a feeding fish for my shrimp. I was wondering whether anyone had any experience in using a suspended feeding dish suctioned to the glass or have any other alternatives? Thanks!

Opae Ula source in Florida?

Posted: 12 Aug 2019 06:35 PM PDT

I really want to get some Opae Ula but I would like to get them from as close as possible (to reduce shipping cost and stress on the animals). Does anyone know of any sources in Florida?

Ghost shrimp or something else?

Posted: 12 Aug 2019 09:06 PM PDT

Found my ghost shrimp dead.

Posted: 12 Aug 2019 03:07 PM PDT

I found one of my ghost shrimp today. When I found it he was a pale white. Every other ghost shrimp I've had die was pink when I found them is that normal?

Is this fungus? Is there any way to save my little guy?

Posted: 12 Aug 2019 03:05 PM PDT

Is this doable? Plastic glass inside tank, frequent water changes, poked some holes just in case. You can see the eyes but its a new shrimp so I don't know how long it has been since she got berried.

Apistogrammas

Posted: 12 Aug 2019 02:53 PM PDT

Hey fellow redditors,

I am thinking about getting 1 apistogramma cacatuoides in my communitytank which is also housing some red cherry shrimp. What is your opinion on the compatibility of these fish and shrimp?

Looking forward to your response!

This is a male, right? I have two that look exactly like it and I need to make sure I get the opposite gender next time I buy shrimp.
