- My 300 piggies
- Feeding time on the lanai. If you look closely, there’s a few little black babies who just joined the school today. It fills my heart with joy to see new babies join. Sorry the water is so murky. I’m having an awful time with algae.
- Good morning ☀️ Feed your piggies well today
- Here are my rescued goldfish. My first tank ever. They lived the last 3.5 years in a 5 gallon tank. This is their first time in a bigger tank. It's not technically big enough but 50 gallon is better than 5 gallons! The tank isn't pretty yet, plants to come later! Work in progress, still cycling
- Anyone ever dealt with anything like this? I took in an unwanted fish.
- Goldfish spawning Update. About 40 Fry freeswimming and growing fast. 3 days afte hatch.
- Do you think my goldfish has Ich? One other fish in the tank has one similar spot on pelvic fin. 2 fish display mating behaviour towards this fish so thought it was female but no idea. Thanks!
- Fancy Oranda is deformed and having persistent swim bladder issues..
- Recently saw that my goldfish has what seems like a cut on his side. His stomach is also very bloated and I'm not sure what to do. Any advice?

Fancy Oranda is deformed and having persistent swim bladder issues.. Posted: 10 Aug 2019 08:12 AM PDT You guys.. I rescued a fancy Oranda from Petsmart about a year ago. She was quite small when we got her. I think still a juvenile. I noticed when we got her that she had a dwarfed and mangled fin. Since I've had her, unfortunately, that fin has remained the same size, with the same mangling look to it. I also noticed with time and the larger she got.. that her right side (looking from the back) has a very angular look to it. I'm assuming that this is a breeding deformity. With feeding, I feed them top quality fish foods that are breed specific.. I also try to feed them fresh vegetables and fruits as a treat once every 2 weeks.. of course cooked and made sure they're washed and safe. But I notice with this Oranda that every time she eats, that sharp deformity protrudes even more. She started developing some swimming issues. She'd float at the top for a minute, then swim around for majority of the day like nothing was wrong. When I noticed this, I hand fed her a few peas and then stopped giving her food for a day or 2. It didn't help much. Now she's progressed to floating on her side, and not swimming at all regardless of all of my attempts of changing water, peas, leafy veggies, fruits, meds.. I'm beginning to thing this is a breeding abnormality and nothing I'll be able to do is saving her. What are you guys thoughts and opinions on what I should do at this point? [link] [comments] | ||
