Posted: 10 Aug 2019 07:55 PM PDT After coming back from work todat, i noticed my overflow siphoned needed to be tuned. So i tuned that and then noticed my yasha was dead. I tested my ammonia it was at 0 nitrates were at 2 pmm. I did a 30 percent water change. I looked at the fish and its belly had been sunken in, starved. Its wierd because i feed maybe finger nail sized piece of rods food daily. Though i always noticed the yasha would be too shy and would not notice the food flowing around its burrow. Nevertheless, i am still pretty pissed off i lost this fish, it took me maybe a month of searching to find this in my lfs, and am probably going to have to search forever to find another. Dead baby Gigas , had him since friday Posted: 10 Aug 2019 03:42 PM PDT It was slightly paler today, but was fully extended. Picked it up and noticed it had a few strands of foot. There was a hole in the back that was abnormal. put it in a dish with some phyto, enough to tint it green. Dead as a door nail 5 minutes later. [link] [comments]

Killer shrimp eats my juvenile Percula! Posted: 10 Aug 2019 12:36 PM PDT So my LFS has had a hard time getting Perculas recently. A couple shipments have been sick, other suppliers not coming through etc. so I go the "place down the street" that's a bit more of a wholesale spot. They have a new shipment of fish, but they're all really small, like 3/4". I figure they'll be full size in a couple months so no problem. Bring em home and on the first night one of them gets eaten by my shrimp. It's tough to tell in this pic, but the outline of a small fish was pretty clear in the shrimps belly this morning. The shrimp did chase them a bit when they first went into the tank, but the clowns were fast enough I thought they'd be safe. Turns out...not so much. Anyone else ever have a shrimp kill a small fish? [link] [comments]

Posted: 10 Aug 2019 12:01 PM PDT Relatively new to the hobby. I have 100l tank with sump, small protein skimmer. Yesterday messing with some of the coral and rearranging and water changed around 20%. Since yesterday the smaller clown has not eaten and looks uninterested in food and staying towards the bottom of the tank not swimming much while the other one is swimming around interested and gobbling all the food down. Today had one large white poop - not previously noticed but think it was brown few days previously. No white spots or anything. Current inhabitants - 2 clowns, 1 cleaner shrimp, 4 turbo snails, coral - duncan, Zoan, toadstool and torch. Measurements = Temp is 26.3 degrees Celsius. Salinity 1.025 rodi water. pH 8, ammonia 0, nitrite 0, nitrate around 0. All tested on API reef master. Wondering whether this is to do with stress of water change and rearranging and invading his space or whether this could be a parasite? I've only had the clowns for 5 days. Also if a parasite and dosing with something like API general would my coral, shrimp and snails be ok? Thanks guys [link] [comments]
Help with white spots on glass. Posted: 10 Aug 2019 11:33 AM PDT Okay so I just set up a 90 gallon reef tank it's about 2 months old. I'm using instant ocean reef salt. I've noticed some white spots starting on the glass. They almost look like imperfections in the glass but they're multiplying. They look like dried water droplets on the inside of the glass. They don't come off with a razor blade or with a scrubby. Any ideas what they could be or how to get rid of them? [link] [comments] |
