Hey, I've had my lotl for a while but I'm thinking of feeding her earth warms and wanted to know if getting them from outside in the lawn or wherever was fine. Or if anyone had any ideas of where to get some that would be safe for Aithusa. Thanks!

UPDATE: Macaroni is getting a tank upgrade!! It still needs to filter out but it’s getting better quickly! We added sand, two new live plants, and two miss balls, so we shouldn’t have any more problems.

Help with limb not developing?

Posted: 01 Aug 2019 06:20 PM PDT

I got a juvenile axolotl a few weeks ago and have been keeping it in a tank with low water turbulence and slate as substrate. At first it had little nubs as arms and legs and while 3 of them have been developing ok, one of the front legs is concerning. It keeps it tucked to its belly most of the time and uses it very rarely and has trouble swimming because of it. It is also developing at a slower rate and has fewer fingers on it than the other limbs. Anybody have any idea what's going on and what I should do?

I’m thinking of getting an axolotl and need some advice, what are some thing I absolutely should know?

We noticed what we thought was a little bit of algae that turned out to be a lot. We got 20 ghost shrimp to eat it up but I think it’s too much for that. We changed the water and cleaned the filters. Tank is clear other than a lot of algae and hunk floating around. How do we clean this up?
