How do you get rid of Nerite eggs? Posted: 29 Jul 2019 02:40 AM PDT I love my two red spotted Nerite snails but they keep leaving white eggs all over my driftwood, and heater. I believe they don't hatch in the aquarium. So do they just stay there? I tried to scrape them off the driftwood but they are properly fused onto it. [link] [comments] | ||

Question about Mystery snail water hardness and Snail inactivity. Posted: 28 Jul 2019 10:16 PM PDT I have recently got into snail keeping (its been about a week) and have lost my first snail today, i was wondering what GH and KH you guys have in your tanks, My GH is generally 180+ppm and KH is 240ppm and i was wondering if that could have killed my poor lad. Also i feel pretty guilty that i might have declared my snail dead prematurely. I was wondering how inactive a snail is before its considered dead / how smelly they get. I pulled him out and he smelled like wet dog and he didn't react to any stimuli at all. I had hunches that he might not have been coping well since the last time i saw him active he was just hanging off a spinach leaf for a few hours without eating it after which he promptly closed himself in his shell and stopped moving.
