I'm still trying to get the hang of aquascaping; however, the journey has led me to having my own shrimps and now babies! To my February Valentine cherry shrimps, I hope you like your home and munch on. :D

About to take the first of my last undergraduate final exams, but I spotted my first baby blue dream shrimp...so I guess it’s okay if I fail and don’t graduate. #proudshrimpmom

Breeding problem.

Posted: 05 Jun 2019 08:42 PM PDT

I have a 3 gallon tank that had fire red and tiger shrimp together. When I added the shrimp I only had 4 fire reds all females and 7 tigers a mix of genders. When the shrimps molted I saw a fire red female getting jumped my a male tiger shrimp as it was trying to breed with her and this female had a saddle. 3 days later she's berried but the eggs where a weird brown/blue colour and she died two days later only death in the tank since.

I understand how genetics can all that stuff works so I'm lost in how a tiger shrimp breed with a fire red possibly leading to her death.

I know they are all female fire reds as they are thicc and all had saddles

Pls help I wish I was making this up

Do you need water movement to artificially hatch eggs?

Posted: 05 Jun 2019 06:00 PM PDT

Ive read online that it is possible to just let the eggs sit in a container of water with no water movement and they will still hatch. Not 100% but it happens. Has anybody else tried this?
