Heres our first planted tank. 6 mo, 36 gallon, 10 plants species, cascade 1000 + bubble filter, and too many fish at the moment due to the gupper breeding.

Feeling overwhelmed by the options as I consider adding CO2 to my baby planted tank. Would be very grateful for advice and recommendations!

Hello everyone!

I've got a 12g long tank, rimless, with ADA amazonia soil, one very aggressive betta, some moneywort, pennywort, and the beginnings of a monte Carlo carpet.

While my plants aren't dying, I'd like to help them grow better. I'm thinking of trying DIY CO2, maybe with the Anself CO2 Generator System Kit you can get on Amazon. I'm trying to not spent too much more $$$, though I know it's unavoidable to an extent.

If anyone has advice on a generator kit, or what diffusers & bubble counters work well with that, I would be very grateful. Is there something like a beginners DIY kit with stuff that works together?

Thank you everyone :) you all inspired me to start up my tank in the first place

Can you use any brand of super glue gel for attaching plants to drift wood?

Posted: 05 Jun 2019 09:01 PM PDT

I ordered moss and it's arriving Friday and it didn't occur to me until just now I don't have any glue and don't even know what glue to use. I'd prefer to use glue over thread or a rubber band because I have a sponge filter and I'd like to try to keep them separate. Glue seems more secure.

Still need to finish adding Monte Carlo tomorrow but most of the planting is done now. Decided on ember tetras as the fish for this tank for the time being.

55-gallon oscar tank advice

Posted: 05 Jun 2019 10:33 PM PDT

So, moving the oscar from his 29-gallon to a 55-gallon I just bought. Looking for advice; I've seen some pics on the web, some success stories. I know how destructive these guys can be, never tried one as a planted tank.

I figure a combination of plants in pots, maybe secured in place with some rocks (can hot-melt glue be used to bind aquarium rocks together?), and plants secured to wood, would give them a decent chance- maybe some giant swords, giant val, the tough stuff.

Wide open to recommendations. This guy's going to be in a 55-gallon probably for the duration, and would kind of like to plant it up a bit. Do tiger lotus do OK with oscars?

What would y’all recommend for a dither fish for ember tetras in a 22 gallon long?
