Experiences with cuttlebone.

Hey all,

I typically recommend adding a cuttlebone to the hang on back filter when people say that their crayfishes are having molting problems, but I've never needed to use it myself as my water has always been hard enough. Do any of you have soft water that you've hardened with cuttlebone? How quickly does this work? Are there any tips or tricks that you recommend?
