- Are Mudpuppies a good alternative for axolotls?
- Ok bye
- It’s a devastating day when your mom accidentally freezes your dinner and you have to go one whole day without a meal.
- Who’s there?
- Here's the video of Midas eating a worm. Look at that happy, nom nom face :)
- My little buddy got so much bigger in last two weeks! I think he is doing ok? But what are these white spots on his tail? Is it skin discoloration? I hope it’s not fungus.
- I haven't made up my mind whether or not to keep this rock. I think Zottie decided for me.
- *wave*
- So quick on the catch, if you blink you miss it! I love how he just sneaks off behind his hide to eat his worm.. lol
- Help! Just got this axolotl & noticed that there's a patch of white/pink on the skin near the gills. Anyone can advise on whether this is something I should worry about? The water is ok: 0ppm ammonia, 0ppm nitrite, 5ppm nitrate.
- New baby arrived today, I already love him!! Hubby wants to name him Phage-the-Untouchable
- Meet Axelotl Rose. He/she's just arrived and is settling in
- API Quick Start - Preparing tank for an axolotl
- Can someone tell me what this is? It’s really thin and seems to be stuck to her Gils. I thought it was a fungal infection but after about a week of salt baths, it’s still there.

API Quick Start - Preparing tank for an axolotl Posted: 05 Jun 2019 08:38 PM PDT Does anyone have experience with this? I am trying to cycle my 20 gal tank for the first time, and was wondering if I could just add this.. would adding the amount it says to add on the bottle be safe for an axolotl? I've heard to properly cycle a tank you should add an ammonia source (I put in a bunch of fish flakes), test for ammonia, then wait a while and test for nitrites, and then nitrates. I just tested the ammonia, and only found ~0.5 ppm. I've only been waiting for like 3 days though. This is my first time setting up an axolotl tank- advice would be appreciated. I would like for my axolotl to be healthy/unstressed when I put him/her in the new tank. Here's what else I have: -fine sand for substrate -fluval filter -some plants (java ferns/moss) -fans to keep water cool -thermometer -water conditioner to treat tap water-remove the chlorine ..only other thing I need is a hiding area, but planning to get one when I pick up the axolotl Thanks [link] [comments]

Posted: 05 Jun 2019 12:15 PM PDT So I thought I had 2 males and woke up to a ton of eggs almost three fridays ago. I now have about 180 healthy brine shrimp eating lusesistic and melanoid babies. Two questions: any advice for all these babies and their care? Also how do I get rid of this many??? [link] [comments]
