What type of divider for my tank?

I did my poor Bettas wrong and got then a 5 gallon to share with a divider. I would like to upgrade them after their first week here to a 10 gallon. But what type of divider should I get for the tank?

What should I do with the old 5.5 gallon? Hummer is being upgraded to a planted rimless. All the plants were removed from this guy (except the marimo obv). Tempted to just put it all away for another time but also sad to waste.

I acquired 5 amano shrimps a few weeks ago in my 15 gallon betta tank. And I recently discovered that my bettas fins are kind of shredded. I fear that it's because of the shrimps. There are no place for the betta to get stuck, and it wasn't a problem before the shrimps got added. No sharp edges either. Is it a possibility that it's the amano shrimps that are harassing him? I doubt there will be any way of knowing for sure, so should I just remove them all? Is there any other shrimp I can replace them with? Are there any plants that can damage betta fins?
