Should I upgrade my Frog-O-Sphere tank after 10 years? How do I do it? Posted: 19 Apr 2019 01:50 AM PDT I've been taking care of my African Dwarf Frog for ten years since I got him from Brookstone in 2009. I was just a kid back then with no knowledge of the best way to take care of these guys or any of the scandals behind the whole Frog-O-Sphere thing. Jerry has been my one and only pet throughout my entire childhood, and I'd like nothing more than to ensure he's happy, healthy, and stress free before I move off to college. When I started researching more about how to take care of ADFs I got tons of conflicting information from several websites. Some say that the original Frog-O-Sphere tank is way too small, others say it's more than enough room for two frogs. I've come here for definitive answers. His current tank (which is the one that came with the Frog-O-Sphere) is 5.5"L x 3.5"W x 2.5"H (from substrate to surface). There is currently nothing in the tank but the substrate and Jerry himself (and I would really appreciate recommendations for stuff to add to his tank). Jerry's a very active and curious frog. He's always seemed to be totally fine and happy, but after all the stuff I've read on the internet about ADF care, I'm just not sure. Is making the switch to a new tank worth it? Would he appreciate the difference, or feel stressed out from being taken away from the tank he's known for ten years? If it isn't too stressful, how big or deep should that tank be? If the new tank was deeper, would it be harder for an old ADF like him to come up and breathe? If it is too stressful to switch tanks, how can I make his current tank better? I would greatly appreciate any links and/or recommendations for better tanks or accessories. I just wanna do the best I can for this guy. Thanks. [link] [comments] | ||
