Are all these plants good for a beginner? Posted: 25 Apr 2019 07:08 PM PDT x1 Amazon Sword x1 Java Fern x1 Dwarf Sagittarius x5 Vallisneria x1 Anubias Barteri x1 Dwarf Aquarium Lily x1 Scarlet Temple x2 Pearl Weed x2 Java Fern "Windelov" x3 Hornwort x3 Red Root Floater x1 subwassertang Do i have to use root tabs if i get Fluval Plant Substrate? I'm hopefully getting Easy Green All in One Fertilizer, Easy Root Tabs, and Easy Iron. Do i need all those for these plants? Which ones are the easiest to grow for a beginner with plants? I obviously won't be getting them all at one time [link] [comments]
Posted: 25 Apr 2019 09:58 PM PDT Any suggestions on plants with some color variety that would survive in a low tech dirt tank? [link] [comments]

Using the correct light for aquarium? Posted: 25 Apr 2019 08:41 PM PDT I bought a light on Amazon that looked like it might be for a planted tank, with comments saying they grow plants with it, but turns out it's insufficient. There's a formula to calculate how many lumens you need. I think in general being between 20 - 40 lumens per liters is good. A 10 gallon tank is about 38 liters. So if you need 20 lumens per liter, you do 38 * 20 = 760. If you need 40 lumens per liter, you do 38 * 40 = 1520. So you need a light between 760 lumens and 1520 lumens for a 10 gallon tank. Is this correct? https://tropica.com/en/guide/make-your-aquarium-a-success/light/ [link] [comments] |
