Redecorating my tank

Posted: 04 Apr 2019 08:48 AM PDT

So this summer I wanna redecorate my tank to look really nice and to give my babies a nice and active life. Right now, it's very boring with a few plants and rocks and 2 caves, but I wanna spice it up. I wanna get some good sand, a third cave and a stump or something to they can get up in height and hide and just play and be active. My tank is 180 L and I wanted to do a little aquascaping too, does anybody have some hood advice for a nice and active tnak? Also, I wanted to add a third lotl to the tank, the ones I have now are both adult males and get along just fine with very little nipping at eachothers tails, they've known eachother for maybe 1.5 years and was in the same tank before I got them, would it be responsible to put a third male aroumd their size in with them or would it create a heiraky?

Where to find 20 gallon tank?

Posted: 04 Apr 2019 03:57 AM PDT

I'm looking for a 20 gallon tank but am having trouble finding one online. They all are either expensive because they come with a lot of different things, or are not the right size. Also I would like one that's cheap. Any suggestions?

Axolotl white spots. Help?

I bought two Axolotls from someone and so far things have been great. Only concern is the black one has gotten these white spots on his back. They've also grown on his leg that I know wasn't there last week. Any Help so I can take care of these guys properly is appreciated.

pH and API Proper pH

Posted: 03 Apr 2019 05:47 PM PDT

Hello Reddit! So my tap water has a high pH of 9.6-9.8. And I've seen multiple sources that claim Axolotls prefer a pH of 6.5-8.0. I've tested putting API Proper pH in my tap water and it brought my water down to the ideal range. However, I see a lot of controversy regarding people saying stuff against the product like "pH fluctuations will stress your fish out just keep your pH as it is they'll be better off that way". But surely forcing a pH out of their tolerance zone is not okay?? But hey what do I know I'm new to all of this.

Does anyone have any experience with using this stuff with their Axolotls? If so, do you use the 7.0 or 7.5 formula?

It's worth noting I do NOT have Axolotls yet and I'm prepping to get them in the future. Of course looking to work out things like this before even going as far as purchasing any.

Thanks to anyone who can lend any knowledge on this!!
