Do I have a snowball shrimp, or a diseased shrimp?

Do I have a snowball shrimp, or a diseased shrimp?

Bought a shrimp today at Petco with an ignorance discount. Basically, a non-aquarist was working the fish section and sold me this shrimp as a ghost shrimp.

I'm drawn to the white color, I think it looks neat. But I'm not sure what kind of neocaridina it is, if it's a neo at all.

Upon googling, I came to two possibilities: either I seriously fucked up and bought a diseased shrimp, or I have acquired a Snowball Shrimp. Does anybody here know which one I ended up with?

I apologize for the bad photo orientation, reddit puts it this way even after I edit it on my MacBook.

Dwarf Crayfish bad for shrimping?

Posted: 07 Mar 2019 12:55 PM PST

i've always wanted a small crayfish, but I love my shrimp more. Anybody have success? Or just forget about it? This would be in a 10 gallon tank with 10 other shrimp.

Help with shrimp deaths!

Posted: 07 Mar 2019 05:29 PM PST

I recently purchased a few blue neocaridina shrimp. I came back from class to see one on it's back struggling to right itself. It died shortly after. Today I found another shrimp dead on its back. I am wondering what's going on. My others seem to be active and healthy, my tank is cycled with no nitrates and stable around 78-80 degrees. Can anyone tell me what is going on? I've heard that it could be failed molting but I haven't seen any of them molt yet so I'm not sure.

Thoughts on LARGE BAMBOO SHRIMP in a 10 gallon tank?

Posted: 07 Mar 2019 03:01 PM PST

I would like a centerpiece invertebrate for my 10 gallon tank. Wondering if any of you have one and how well it works out?

I have 10 dwarf shrimp. 1 Honey Gourami. 6 small tetra fish (cardinals and embers). 1 mystery snail. Live plants.

Sorry if this has been asked a lot, but I'm new to keeping shrimp. Was wondering if they'll crawl out of an uncovered tank.
