My male clownfish (top one) seems to be a bit discolored and has ragged fins but normal behavior. What could that be. Sorry I couldn’t get a good pic

Fluval Evo owners w/ inTank baskets - how do you have the baskets set up? [help]

Posted: 03 Feb 2019 02:01 PM PST

Just got my Evo all set up, excited to get through the cycle and add some livestock. I originally was going to do a skimmer, but saw that many are going a different direction so I bought both of the inTank baskets and currently have them set up following suit of their recommendations:

Basket 1 - Top filter floss, middle purigen, bottom 2 chemi pure blue nano bags

Basket 2 - seachem matrix bio

My question is, how do you have your baskets set up? Does this work? Honestly the nano chemi bags look so small in the bottom basket, I just want to make sure I have them set up effectively. Thanks!

[Help] Tank Cycle

Posted: 03 Feb 2019 09:00 AM PST

I'm putting 30 pounds of dry rock and 17 pounds of live rock in my 55 gallon tank. Do I have to have all the rock in before I add ammonia (do I even add ammonia with the live rock?) I also have Dr Tims nitrifying bacteria, when do I add that in? I can't tell if it goes in with the ammonia or after the tank has cycled. Any other tips or tricks for this first timer would be most excellent!

I have Salifert test kits for Ammonia, Nitrate, Nitrite, Magnesium, Calcium, Phosphate, Alkalinity, and Copper.
