Posted: 05 Feb 2019 11:06 PM PST My ranchu is acting strange lately, he used to be very active and food hungry but today after feeding some homemade gel food this morning. He's been lethargic and skittish ever since i got back just now. I tested the parameters and it's cycled. And I did a water change two days ago so I'm not sure if the temperature is the issue. Maybe he doesn't like the gel food? [link] [comments]
Is it cruel to get rid of my goldfish’s “best friend?” Posted: 05 Feb 2019 08:39 PM PST I have an oranda and fantail in one tank and they have been together since the beginning, id say about a year and they poke around with each other. I recently added a redcap and the redcap I've noticed has been a little sassy to the fantail and keeps butting against it. It used to be during feeding but now it constantly chases it around and the fantail has actually lost scales cause of it. I don't think this is mating behavior as I'm pretty sure they are the same gender. Is it cruel to get rid of the bullied fantail if my other oranda is already bonded with it? [link] [comments]
Recommended pond size for 5 comet goldfish? Posted: 05 Feb 2019 07:29 PM PST Got 5 comets I'm making, should be ready for them to go in it come March. I got the whole space worked out. It's going to be a kidney bean shape and I'm terrible at math so it's impossible for me to calculate the area of this thing but it's probably about 7 feet across by 4 feet wide. How deep should I make it to comfortably house 5 comet Goldie's? [link] [comments]
My daughter has been keeping her goldfish tank with a heater! Posted: 05 Feb 2019 06:10 PM PST I'm sorry and I feel so irresponsible typing this. My daughter got her first Oranda goldfish when she was 14. Me being the supportive parent I am for her interest in fish I decided to buy her her first tank around a year ago. It is a 55 gallon tank and she has two orandas. I was never quite educated on fish except the basics- water conditioner, a good filter, tank size and sand for goldfish. I trusted her to do her research and the petstore employees to inform her. The tank is in her room. Well anyways fast forward I thought we were doing everything right, but I just looked at the temp and it's kept at 82. Yeah no need to explain anything else at this point...... this probably shortened their lifespan, and how can I adjust the goldfish to the correct temp since it's always been a consistent 82 degrees since last year? Posted: 05 Feb 2019 03:28 PM PST I need help. I have a fish tank that wasn't cycled when I put fish in. I went to my moms to get some of her plants and a peice of driftwood from her tank, and some of her filter media. I put them in yesturday to help my tanks ammonia issue. How long does it take to kick in and help my fish tank.. I've been testing my water so much and it's not helping.. [link] [comments] |
